If you want to fly here, the area offers a wide choice of routes.

Toulouse airport is served by many major airlines, and also has services by several of the UK's low-cost airlines . Motorway access is very easy.

Bergerac airport is tiny, but has several new cut-price UK flights this year. Again access is easy, and the drive there is quite attractive.

Bordeaux airport is also not too far away.

If you’re driving here via the tunnel or the Channel ports, head for Paris, then Orleans. Take the A20 motorway south from Vierzon, and we’ll provide directions from Cahors. It’s a day’s drive, but once you’re past Orleans the motorways are usually quiet.

If you’re coming from one of the ports in or near Brittany, it’s quickest to come via Bordeaux. From there take the A62 to Agen, and we’ll give you directions for the rest of the trip.

St. Malo - 7 hours (440 miles)
Calais - 9½ hours (580 miles)
Le Havre - 8½ hours (550 miles)
Caen - 8 hours (475 miles)
Paris - 6½ hours

Waterloo-Lille-Agen is a particularly easy route, as you only have to change platforms in Lille. But there’s only one connecting train a day in each direction.

If you come via Paris you do have to cross the city – but you have a wider choice of trains.

Agen TGV-Waterloo (via Lille or Paris) - 11 hours
