In winter, because the house is a large one and has full central heating, the owner is prepared to welcome Bed and Breakfast guests. Not only is she a welcoming hostess, she's also an accomplished cook. So it is possible to arrange for evening meals to be served.
Of course guests are also free to spend their evenings in some of the main rooms, enjoying the log fires, perhaps savouring one of the region's wines or sipping an Argmagnac, the locally made brandy which many people prefer to cognac.
